To Whom It May Concern
\JI am pleased and honored to write concerning the character and
professional qualifications of Professor Gianfranco Prini. I have corresponded
with Professor Prini for several years; recently I have had the
pleasure of meeting
him. I found him to be a most pleasant individual.
My correspondence with Professor Prini began in conjunction with the publishing
of my book on LISP. He volunteered to review my manuscript and spent many months
of careful study in that project.
During that time
he sent me approximately one hundred pages
of detailed notes on both the content and the style of
that manuscript; these notes covered logical flaws in my presentation,
suggestions for improved organization, and suggestions for
additional topics, as well as typographical errors.
His comments were of great value; the quality of the final book
was increased substantially due to his insights.
I have had other occasions to view Professor Prini's work.
Besides being of high \F2technical\F1 quality, the papers
reflect a well-developed understanding of the art of presentation;
in short, his papers are "elegant".
It is enjoyable to be associated with a person of the caliber of
Professor Prini. It would be most satisfying to see his excellence
rewarded by advancement to Full Professor.
